Toronto Trip - June 2008

We have recently returned from a 4 day whirlwind southern Ontario tour. Highlights of our tour included Canada's Wonderland, a visit with GiGi, and a day at Nadine's farm.
Canada's Wonderland was going well until everyone had a meltdown on the Scoobydooville Carousel. It was then time to leave.

Our visit with GiGi was nice and nobody really made strange. While Grace was bringing GiGi flowers, Everett was offering her clumps of mulch and Avery was peeping in all the windows. Grace was the most receptive (surprisingly) to GiGi, going so far as to hold her hand while leaving the courtyard.

We ended up staying an extra day to spend on the farm. Diane's sister Nadine was kind enough to let us trample all over her property, admiring all the animals. Everyone got to sit on the horses, and it looks as though we may have a cowgirl in the making. Everett was taken by the cows, and just couldn't get enough of them. Avery was more amused and interested in the cattle-herding dog Guinness, who kept her in stitches by chasing the cows all over the pen.

The New Travel Beds

With the kids outgrowing the playpens, I had to come up with alternative travelling sleeping arrangements. The 'Toddler Ready-Bed'. I had seen them when we were in England, and thought it would a great idea for travelling. When I brought them home, everyone wanted theirs blown up, and they really seem to enjoy flopping into them now, so hopefully when we are out and about this summer they still find them just as amusing. Everett is Thomas the Train, Grace is The Backyardigans, and Avery is Dora. Yet untested, I hope they work out as well I anticipate.

The First Camping Trip - 2008

Last weekend was the first camping trip of the summer season. Everything went relatively well for the exception of the 'new' sleeping arrangements. We used this opportunity to test out our 'new' system before embarking on our 2 week East coast vacation in August. Aside from the constant need to get into each others' beds, it went ok. The sand & surf were a complete success, and practically had to physically drag everyone from the beach.

Gymnasts in the making

We have been going to Jungle Jim's since March and only now do I think they are really enjoying themselves. From the minute we get there until the minute we leave they are running, screaming, jumping, and tumbling. I think we may have real Olympic potential here.

The Annual Pool Christening

With the pool now open, it was time to start enjoying. Although the temperature was a little below my entry standards the kids didn't seem to mind. They have been asking every time we step foot on the deck so this morning they all went in. Loaded up with their pool safety gear, everyone enjoyed it for the exception of Avery, who also has a higher temperature standard than the other 2.
I think the most enjoyment came from running around the yard with no clothes on. Things ended quickly once Grace announced she had to go poop.
