The new Art Center

We have finally assembled the new art easel the kids received from Linda & Walter A. They were pretty excited when it was finally done. They tried on their art smocks and coloured on the blackboard. It was the first time with chalk and not one of them really ate any significant amount. Avery, who usually puts crayon shavings on her face was not the least interested in putting any on her face. WOW gettin' older.

Drinking the big boy/girl way

Late last week was the first time all 3 decided they wanted to drink the BIG boy/girl way. It was Everett who initiated things first but the girls were quick to follow suit. Now this was not the first time they have taken a drink from a cup but it is the first time they drank with the knowledge that if they tip the glass to far then a potential drowing is imminent.

Everett earning his keep

As parents, Jason & I have always believed in trying to instill certain values in the kids. For example, earning your keep. Now, we know that they are still a little young to be doing certain chores, but its never too young to learn.

I had better take it while I can since I do not think he will be so eager in later life.

Grandad Simpson comes for a visit

Over the past week, Grandad Simpson came for his first official visit. The last time he saw them they were still in the NICU, so it had been a while. He was able to experience first hand what having 3 toddlers is all about, with a grocery-run to Costco, lunch at Swiss Chalet, tobogganing and a play morning at Chapters. Not surprisingly, they were all very social when he arrived and didn't make strange for too long. As always the week flew by but in the end we had a lovely visit, and Grandad is more than welcome any time.

18 Months old, can you believe it?

On February 16th the kids will be 18 months. They are all walking, no make that running everywhere. Avery is like a parrot, mimicking every word that comes out of anyones mouth (now we REALLY have to watch what we say), Everett is 100% a boy, he's rough with everyone and everything, especially poor Presley, who takes a face-pulling almost daily now and Grace has got to be the cutest thing ever. (I may be slightly biased here) The road does not feel as though it has been long but who can believe it has been 18 months already. Lets take a short walk down memory lane.

Definitely a Simpson

With Everett being Jason's clone he certainly could not deny that one, but now with Avery, there is most certainly no doubt with this one either. Like father, like daughter & son.
