Simpson Christmas 2007
Well its almost impossible to comprehend that another year has past. I honestly do not know where the time went. It feels as though I blinked, and the year had past.
This year we decided to spend the holidays at Chez Howatt in Ottawa. A quaint little out-of-the way place I would recommend to anyone. Prior to our expected arrival we stopped in to see Grandma & Grandpa Graham, who if was able to have it their way we would have spent it there. It was a whirlwind overnight stay. We arrived, ate their food, slept in their beds, ate more food, then departed. That was pretty much it. It was all quite tame.
We continued on with our journey to Crap, wait sorry Carp. Carp is located fairly close to Shitsville, or wait sorry Stittsville. When we arrived Shannon eagerly greeted us at the door with treats and snacks on hand. Wow, who knew Shannon was so domestic. But that was just the beginning. She dazzled everyone the entire week with her cooking and organizational skills. The apple REALLY doesn't fall far from the tree. And Shannon certainly proved that.
Christmas Day arrived and the pitter-patter of 3 screaming toddlers was enough to send all of the buildings tenants running to the hills. Everyone was spoiled this year not to mention the kids who received almost every 'Little People' toy made. Thanks to everyone for their generosity. With every box that made its debut, Everett wanted everything out of the box immediately and set up. Daddy was quite busy that morning. Avery was most interested in trying on the clothes that Nanny Di had sent them and Grace was more interested in ripping the tissue paper into a gillion teeny pieces.
The week flew by, and next thing you know it was Friday, so we decided to take advantage of the mild weather and head out doors. Donned with their snowsuits, we headed for Parliament Hill where we wandered around looking at the lights, but before we went we treated Everett & the girls with their new favourite meal of pizza.
The kids had a blast running around in their snowsuits that Everett was sad to leave. Well it was fun up until Jason was almost shot inside the Parliament building while chasing after Grace, who decided to bolt the second Jason put her down. Well it wasn't THAT dramatic but it was quite funny when the 170-year old security guy was shouting 'SIR, SIR, SIR' as Jason was scurrying after Gracie, who thought the whole incident was hysterical.
P.S. Absolutely NOTHING happened to Riley this year, it was only Presley who suffered an attack by the Sesame Street characters. Maybe the tide is starting turn for poor Riley. Ya never know it is the start of a brand new however after all.
