The Toenail Saga Continues

Well the Riley toenail incident during our recent camping trip continues. Over the weekend Riley's toenail appeared to be bothering him more than usual, so on Monday I took him to the vet. He just has the worst luck that dog; he required minor surgery on his foot. At least he was sedated this time.

I think the bumble bee is suppose to cheer him up. It doesn't seem to be working yet. Maybe tomorrow.

The Party

Was a complete success. With 9 babies and about 30 adults the day couldn't have gone any more
smoothly than it did.
Not 1 baby was crying or fussy or whiny. The Chapleau triplets as well as the Rantala twins & Ava managed to make it out for the day.

The kids were spoiled rotten with all the wonderful gifts from family & friends. One thing we did learn from a childrens party is that you have to move things along fairly quickly as we had to accelerate the cake as a few of our guests were ready for their naps. Instead of 1 large cake I had 3 small cakes made for each of them so they could enjoy the cake mushing with their own cake.

However it didn't exactly get as messy as I would have thought. Grace jumped right into hers but Avery & Everett were a little apprehensive about touching the icing.

Everett eventually got the hang of it but Avery just was not interested.

Thanks to everyone for the countless gifts, it was certainly not necessary and very much appreciated.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!

Well 1 year ago today, our seemingly quiet lives changed dramatically forever. At 2:13, 2:14 and 2:16 pm today the arrival of our family was complete. We spent the day reminiscing about what were doing and what was happening in our lives. Not many people can remember the moments of one year ago, but I can, every last detail.

We had a wonderful day. We took them to Killarney for fish & chips by the water, then went to the lighthouse where the wind blew through our hair. Grace had a blast. It couldn't have been a more perfect day. Grandpa Howatt even posted a birthday notice in the Sudbury Star.
We are officially celebrating the occasion on Saturday with a birthday party. We are expecting the Chapleau triplets as well as the Rantala twins. A total of about 9 babies. Should be quite a party.

Why walk when you can ride?

Grace has learned a valuable life lesson. Why walk when you can ride? A girl after my own heart. Amber was pushing her around in a dump truck.

Meant to be a Star

Is this Elton John's sister or am I just imagining it? With the dramatics I always knew this girl would be a star.

Welcome Sidney Skrobot

On August 1st, The Skrobots welcomed their newest addition Sidney. Weighing in at 7.1 lbs, she was a few weeks early. Although healthy, she has been sent to the NICU due to her early arrival.
The link between the Simpsons and the Skrobots is interesting. 1. Chris Skrobot works for Jason at North Mine. 2. Steph is one of the few therapists working at the neo-natal follow clinic that the kids attend every 3 months. 3. Steph is also a triplet herself.
Congratulations to the proud parents, and I hope everything is going well for everyone.

Also a fond hello to the NICU nurses from the Simpsons. It's difficult to believe that next week it will have been a year since our introduction. Despite the circumstances, I think of everyone there often, and hope everyone is doing well.

What we did on Thursday

Here's what we did on Thursday. Everett has learned how to make his way up the stairs, Avery learned how to crawl as well as welcomed a new top tooth, and Grace has 2 new teeth on the bottom. Just another Thursday.
